Election Ramblings
(a poem about 'The Donald')

Donald Trump is a disaster
But at tweeting he’s a master.
Science does not interest him,
It just makes his mind more dim.

“Glaciers melt and oceans rise?
That is just a bunch of lies.
Fossil fuels last for ever
Using lots of them is clever”

He hates people, brown or black
“To your home you should go back”.
He thinks Hitler was quite right.
All good people must be white.

Here is what I’d like to tell
Donald Trump: “Go back to hell!”
What would make our country great?
Lots of love and much less hate.

Let’s make migrants happy here
Let us welcome them, not fear.
Mass shootings will not go away
While Trump supports the NRA.

Anyone who seems deranged
From society estranged
Plans a shooting just for fun
He must never own a gun.

Our Country is now split in two.
States are either red or blue.
Some folks say “Without Don Trump
Markets will be sure to slump.

Stocks will plummet, sell them now,
Down and down will go the Dow!
And indeed, that may be so,
Markets always come and go. 

Who is able soon to dump?
Who can beat our President Trump?
This grand-master of the Spin?
Maybe old Joe Biden’s in?

I think Bernie Sanders’s neat
But I don’t believe he’d beat
Our great expert of the Tweet.

Could a woman do the trick?
That would really make Trump sick.
Warren (Liz) just might be in.
Imagine this:” A girl can win”!

Most of us are quite perplexed.
And we wonder what is next.
Stay alive another year.
Hope the good news you will hear.
