Configuration info for Montandon PC

HomeBuilt #1A - UPGRADED to 4-processor AMD

(upgraded ~2011nov --- built Jul-Aug 2007 --- most parts ordered from
Tiger Direct, FL ; 1-800-888-6111 ; www.tigerdirect.com
--- then video card and motherboard fried 2011oct ---
upgraded motherboard and CPU to 4-processor AMD)

NOTE: The video card on this PC fried ~2010oct and took the motherboard with it.
The motherboard was changed along with a few other components, such as memory.
The previous configuration is on a HomeBuilt-1 page.

may switch out to a different mouse in the future
OPERATING SYSTEM(S) :
Using Ubuntu 9.10 that was still on the disk drives after the 'upgrade'.
In 2009, I changed from Mandriva Linux (installed in 2007) to Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) Linux --- via a Live CD install.

Cost of computer 'upgrade':

  • about $450 for the labor and the new motherboard, CPU, and memory
