Robert Abendroth - Assistant Coach Profile Hometown: Lafayette, La. High School: St. Stepehns Height / Weight: 6-7 / 210 Graduated UVA 2001 A familiar face remains in Charlottesville to help share his tennis knowledge, while relating to his playing days at UVa, is Robert Abendroth, who graduated this spring 2001. Abendroth transferred to UVa from Mississippi prior to the start of his second year, and participated mostly in doubles. He did not compete in the 2000 fall season, but finished his second season in Charlottesville (1999-2000) with a 6-3 record in singles, 9-7 in doubles with Brian Hunter. Compiled a 3-3 record in doubles in his first season, 2-1 in ACC doubles. Prior to transferring to UVa, he played on ATP Tennis Team in 1997 and played for the University of Mississippi in 1996 at #5 and #6, where he lettered in tennis and was a 1996 NCAA semifinalist, helping the Rebels to a 1996 SEC team championship. Abendroth was a USTA National Indoors finalist in 1996 and also played Andre Agassi in Burbank, Calif. His brother, Michael, played tennis at Southwestern Louisiana from 1986-90, while his father played basketball at Louisiana Tech.
