Duquette played collegiate tennis at the University of Virginia, where he was a nationally-ranked doubles player and served as team captain as a senior in 2002-03. Duquette, along with teammate Doug Stewart, finished the 2002-03 season ranked 29th in Division I in doubles and competed at the 2003 NCAA Division I Doubles Championships. Duquette and Stewart went 15-6 at No. 1 doubles during the season and defeated three doubles teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament. Duquette, who played primarily at No. 2 and No. 3 in singles as a senior, helped the Cavaliers to a 20-8 record, their most wins since 1984, and a final national ranking of 47th.
