The photographs below are of the UVA Fall Invitational Tennis Tournament, Sep 15-17, 2006 --- in Charlottesville, VA, on the Snyder outdoor tennis courts on the UVA campus. More than 20 college teams were invited. Participating colleges included

Below are some photos taken of some singles and doubles players at the tournament. But first, to give an idea of the layout, there is a panorama of shots giving an overview of the outdoor courts of the Snyder Tennis Center at the University of Virginia. The player photos are basically grouped by school --- in the alphabetical order of school names, indicated by the list above. (For the schools-players that I have not identified, yet, I put those photos in an 'other' group, near the bottom of this page.) (I would have had at least a dozen more photos of players, but I lost a lot of shots at the times my camera informed me that the batteries were depleted. I am upgrading to a camera with a higher "CIPA" rating. I am going from a 3 megapixel Nikon Coolpix 3100 with a 3-to-1 optical zoom to a 6 megapixel Nikon with a 5-to-1 optical zoom --- and a CIPA rating of over 150 photos on a pair of AA alkaline batteries. And I got a monopod for steadier shots in the future.) |

The building in the photo on the far right houses
tennis meeting rooms and equipment rooms.
That is Coach Boland in that photo.
