UVA, U.S. Open, Pros

INTRODUCTION:

This is a menu of web pages of 'locally-stored' tennis photos --- and some short movies --- stored on this site.

Some of the pages of images are of University of Virginia (UVA) men's tennis teams in the time frame of about 2001 to 2008.

Some of the images are of the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York City around 2006 to 2009.

Some of the images are of professional tennis players such as Federer and many others --- including Agassi, Becker, Borg, Laver, Moya, Nadal, Roddick, Sampras, Stepanek.

In the 2001 to 2006 timeframe, the official UVA tennis site was at 'virginiasports.cstv.com'. It had links like "Archives", "Bios", and "Schedules".

    (The cstv.com site deploys/deployed annoying popup ads, such as ads for sites like classmates.com. UVA really could use their own website, or some other site, without the annoying popup ads. UVA could provide larger, better-quality photos, and if they maintained their own site, that would allow for creating more information options.)

Around 2007, the official UVA Tennis site was switched to virginiasports.com. It still has annoying ads and some of these pages are still slow to load --- like player biographies.

You will probably encounter fewer annoying ads and faster response if you use an alternative source of info on college teams and players --- such as the Men's Division 1 Tennis page at collegetennisonline.com .

    You can access team info and player biographies at 'collegetennisonline.com' --- within the various conferences. Unfortunately, that site also has annoying popups --- but they may be less frequent.

I have a page of tennis links. This page includes links to the major tennis tour, magazine, and equipment sites.

Alternative sources of UVA info are the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) and ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) links, for which there are links on that 'tennis links' page.
