Introduction :

There are some pretty outrageous quotes coming from the mouths of Republican politicians --- quotes that demonstrate where they and their platform 'planks' are coming from.

For example, some Republicans have some pretty outlandish ideas on how women's bodies work --- for example, proclaiming that 'the female body has ways to shut that whole thing down' --- meaning that women can make their body refuse to get pregnant from 'rape sperm'.

This helps explain why we see pictures in the newspapers, when a new law on women's issues is passed, showing a group of 'all men' standing around while a Republican governor or president signs another bill championing another 'great plank' of the Republican platform (= Republican agenda).

Other examples of Republican quotes:

  • heartless or deplorable comments in response to mass shootings (in a category such as 'Guns' or 'Crime' or 'Constitution' below)

  • statements that indicate a disgust for the American worker (in a category such as 'Labor' below)

  • statements that indicate a drive to offload tax responsibilities from the rich to the middle class (in category 'Taxes' below)

Yes ... the rich have a greater tax responsibility, because they have the most possessions to protect from their envisioned enemies. All those defense weapons-and-people and all that spying and wall-building is very expensive ... and homeless people are not going to feel much different whoever is in power. The poor have very little 'skin' in the government/defense game, but the rich have plenty of 'skin' to be protected.

  • statements that indicate support for filling 'private enterprise' prisons with non-violent individuals (in a category such as 'Prisons' or 'Crime')

  • statements supporting the denial of birth-control support for women while providing Viagra (erectile dysfunction) support for men (in category 'Womenz Issues')

Organization of this web page :

A 'Table of Contents' section below lists various subject categories --- such as 'Business' and 'Drugs' and 'Environment' and 'Guns' and 'Taxes' and 'Women Issues'.

Each of the entries in the Table is a link to a quotes section further down this page.

Each of the quotes sections down this page contain a group of quotes along with the name of the person who issued each quote.

With each of the quotes, there may be 'external' links to

  • info on the politician (often a Wikipedia link)
  • web pages that present the quote (word for word)
  • web pages that deal with the issue raised by the quote
  • a web search on keywords such as the politicians name and/or words from the quote

Searching this page :

If you are looking for some particular information, and the 'Table of Contents' below is not so helpful, you can use the text search function of your web browser. For example, if you are looking for information on a specific topic such as 'guns' or 'taxes' or 'women' or 'vaginal probe', enter a character-string such as 'gun', 'tax', 'wom', or 'vag' in the text search entry field of your web browser.

Deez quotes :

Many of these quotes are essentially 'planks' of the Republican platform. These quotes are an embodiment of 'Republican ethics' --- an embodiment of the 'Republican ethos'.

Enough. Here is the 'Table of Contents'.

WOMEN ISSUES quotes
  • "If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to shut that whole thing down."
    --- Former U.S. Rep. Todd Aiken (R-MO).

  • "Women's voices are 'not appropriate or qualified' to participate in the debate over birth control."
    --- U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA).

  • "... women are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido ... without the help of the government ..."
--- Former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee Mike Huckabee (R-AR)
    ...
and yet Mr. Huckabee seems to be quite supportive of 'Uncle Sugar' providing a prescription each month for Viagra because men need help with their erectile dysfunction. Apparently men need the help of the government, but women do not have an equal right. There's a cheaper solution, Mike. It's called pornography. And it's all over the internet, for free. A better solution: Save the government a lot of money, Mike. Work to outlaw Viagra-money for men. It's a 'discretionary' expense, Mike, not a right. The U.S. Constitution does not say Viagra-support is an inalienable right. If you run for President again, Mike, is one of your campaign slogans going to be 'A Hard-on In Every House'?
