Those years culminated with the Great Recession --- thanks to Bush anti-regulation appointees such as Secretary of the Treasury, Hank Paulson.

Bush's cabinet believed in the ethics and competency of the 'banking class'.

Somehow, they believed that these people would not be tempted while handling billions of dollars of OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY.
