INTRODUCTORY NOTES on
Bargain (sub-$400) DESKTOP Computers :
(NO monitor)

As was indicated in a Computer Bargains INTRO page, the CPU chip in these sub-$400 desktops --- when Intel --- is usually a 'Celeron' or 'Pentium' chip --- NOT an 'i3' or 'i5' or 'i7' chip.

Essentially all of the desktops in these 'computer bargain lists' come equipped with a DVD/CD drive. And essentially all come with a keyboard and mouse.

Note that most computers with a Microsoft Windows operating system pre-installed come with so much bloatware that you can spend an inordinate amount of time trying to remove performance-robbing software.

It is typically easier to simply 'wipe' Microsoft Windows off the disk drive by installing a Linux distro 'over the entire disk drive'.
